This is a really impromptu slouchie hat we just came up with off the cuff. It's not exactly refined, but then apparently slouchies aren't supposed to be. At any rate, here's the pattern for it, and enjoy.
Start with magic circle (or chain 5, join with slip stitch to first chain to form a ring)
Chain 6, *do 3 dc in ring, ch 2*
5 times, dc 2, join with slip stitch in 3rd ch of 1st ch 6.
Row 2: ch 3, in first ch 2 space do 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc.
*In next ch 2 space do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc *5 times, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Row 3: ch 3, in same space do 2 dc,
*do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, then in next space do 3 dc* 5 times, then in last space do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Row 4: ch 3, in same space do 2 dc, in next space do 3 dc, *do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, then in next 2 spaces do 3 dc* 5 times, then in last space do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in last space, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Row 5: ch 3, in same space do 2 dc, in next 2 spaces do 3 dc, *do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, then in next 3 spaces do 3 dc* 5 times, then in last space do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in last space, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Row 6: ch 3, in same space do 2 dc, in next 3 spaces do 3 dc, *do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, then in next 4 spaces do 3 dc* 5 times, then in last space do 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in last space, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Row 7-12: ch 3, in same space do 2 dc, in all remaining spaces do 3 dc only, join with slip stitch to first ch 3.
Brim
Row 1: ch 1, sc in each dc of previous row, join.
Row 2: ch 1, *sc in next 2 sc of previous row, skip 1 space* all the way around, join.
